Alleyway with Archway

About This Work
Sunlight warms a narrow Greek alley, its light framing a worn archway that opens into the quiet depths beyond.
Warm ochres, weathered whites, and muted terracottas give form to aged stone walls and shuttered windows, while touches of cobalt blue accent door frames in a classic island style. The lines of rooftops and cobblestones recede, deepening the space and inviting a path inward. The central arch holds the scene, its curve answered by the vertical lines of walls and soft edges that fall away into the distance. Expressive brushwork gives a rough feel to pitted masonry, setting warm, sunlit planes against cool slate and lavender shadows. No figures disturb the quiet—only the hush of midday heat remains in this sheltered passage, where every surface seems to hold time and light. Stillness settles over the empty passage.
