Arachova, Houses, Evening, Snowy Mountains in Background

About This Work
Arachova at dusk — ochre rooftops descending the hillside, a few lit windows holding their own against the cold blue of the mountains.
There’s such a feeling of shelter here, of life tucked away from the cold. The whole village seems to follow the slope of the land, its rooftops and chimneys creating a quiet rhythm against the mountains. See how the houses cluster in their warm earth tones, answering the cool blues and grays of the snow and fading sky. The brushwork feels different up close. It’s so careful with the stonework and tiles, but the slopes behind are softer, almost feathery. Evening light lays long, gentle shadows across everything, and those small points of warmth from the windows are the only answer to the cold. A deep quiet sits over the valley, the kind that only comes after snow.
