DEI Workboat at Dusk
M862
About This Work
A single workboat rests off-center beneath an indigo sky, the horizon drawn so low it surrenders the canvas to dusk.
Everything softens in this light. The boat seems to breathe with the evening, its edges blurred into the dusk. The last warmth of the day clings to the hull in little touches of ochre, a quiet contrast to all the hazy blues and violets filling the water and sky. The horizon is so low. It gives everything to the sky. And the water carries your eye out, past those quiet ripples, toward the softest silhouettes at the far edge. Even the brushwork feels calm. A slow quiet settles over the water, the kind that holds after the sun has gone.
