House in Mani
MK291
About This Work
A single stone tower house rises from the parched Mani hillside, its pale walls cut hard by midday light.
A deep quiet seems baked into the land itself. The house rests just off-center, its tall shape reaching toward the sky, anchored by the rough ground below as low hills soften in the distance. The whole scene is steeped in earth tones—warm sienna and ochre against the chalky white of the walls, with cooler grays settling into the shadows. The brushwork shifts from smooth strokes on the sunlit planes to drier, broken touches that build the texture of weathered stone. Light falls hard, cutting sharp shadows that map every ledge and corner. No one is here. Only the structure and the land that holds it. The heat rests on everything, and time itself seems to wait here with the stones.
