About This Work
Cobalt shutters and pale stone mark the climb through Portaria, the pale ridge of Pelion steady above.
A deep stillness settles over the village. It feels like the highest part of the afternoon. Stone paths lead the way up, winding through clustered houses toward a soft line of hills. See the cobalt shutters against those sun-bleached walls? The shadows carry just a hint of violet. The buildings themselves feel so solid and sure, but the foliage breathes—the paint is looser there, and thickest where it holds the sun on the rooftops. Light presses down from above, leaving cool grays to rest in the lanes between. The air sits still over it all, holding the slow patience of a Pelion afternoon.
