Segovia Cathedral from Afar, Road
M1582
About This Work
Segovia Cathedral anchors the far end of the road, pale stone set against an open sky, ochre fields running flat on either side.
There’s a quiet patience to this landscape. The road draws you in, bending gently across dry fields toward the cathedral. The earth holds all that warmth, ochre and sienna, while soft blues cool the distance and lift into the sky. The cathedral itself breathes in a lighter tone, almost bone, standing apart from the land around it. The light is so even. It falls from high above, shaping everything with quiet shadows instead of sharp lines. The air carries that dry, even hush of an open country afternoon, time slowing as the road draws on.
