About This Work
Soft green hills meet a pale ochre foreground, the horizon held low. A stillness holds the air here.
The land itself seems to breathe. It rolls gently from a textured edge near us into a band of muted olive, lifting toward distant slopes washed in dusty blue. The whole scene is weighted in its earth tones—ochre and soft moss green—with the sky staying pale above them. See how the paint is laid on? Broken and textured up close, but it all softens into air further back, where the forms almost dissolve. The light is so even, with no hard shadows. Nothing is hurried. The air feels still, and time slows to the pace of the hills.
