Zagora Evening toward Cypresses
M2119
About This Work
The last light reaches the slope toward Zagora, lifting burnt sienna from the earth as the cypresses darken against a pale rose sky.
There’s a stillness here, a quiet that belongs only to evening. The ground holds the day’s heat in burnt sienna and ochre, and your eye follows its gentle slope upward toward the trees. They're so dark. The cypresses anchor the whole scene, their deep green almost black. You can see how the paint is laid on thicker for the rugged land, while the twilight above just breathes—softly blended from lavender into pale rose. The light is so low, coming from the side. It stretches those long, cool shadows across the terrain and catches just the edges of the trees. Time slows, settling over the quiet hills.
