Zagora Landscape from a Distant Neighborhood
M1689
About This Work
Zagora recedes into pale slopes, the ridge dissolving into haze beneath a late afternoon sky.
Everything settles into the warmth of a long afternoon. The dry earth at our feet carries the heat of burnt sienna and dusty umber, softened by muted greens. You can feel the texture where thicker paint breaks into small marks for foliage and soil. Beyond, the rolling hills soften into blue-gray. The sky opens above it, breathing in pale, calm strokes with just a touch of rose near the horizon. The light comes in low, shaping the land in gentle gradients instead of sharp shadows. A quiet from that distant place rests over the whole view, and time slows.
