Beach with Umbrellas
M503
About This Work
Red and blue canopies recede in loose clusters down the beach, small but deliberate against the wide open sand.
A slow warmth settles over everything here. The umbrellas pull away from us in a soft diagonal, guiding you down the long stretch of the beach. It’s all warm ochre sand meeting the cool breath of the water, and those canopies are just sudden touches of red and deep blue. The brushwork is so light—almost a wash for the sky, but you can see thicker dabs of paint where sunlight glances off a wave. Little figures rest in the shadows they cast. Time just slows.
