Ios, House
M1314
About This Work
A cobalt dome breaks the pale sky over Ios, the white walls beneath it sharp with midday light.
Everything feels so settled here, anchored to this hillside. The house rests low, its clean geometry softened by dry stone walls and sparse scrub as the sky opens up above. The building’s crisp white and cobalt blue sit against ground that breathes with dusty earth tones. The paint is smooth on the architecture, but the landscape feels rougher, suggesting sun-baked stone. Even the shadows are clean—pools of cool lavender and gray that give things form without dimming the bright air. The quiet feels absolute, holding the slow weight of a Cycladic afternoon.
