Makrinitsa, Entering the Village... Sunset
MK374
About This Work
Late sun strikes the entrance of Makrinitsa, turning stone and tile to amber where the road curves upward into the village.
All the day’s warmth seems to settle into these buildings. The road leads us gently upward, past houses clustered along the slope. See how ochre and burnt sienna breathe from the walls? The cool mauve shadows pool in contrast, deep along the paths. The trees are just dappled touches of green—their brushwork so broken and alive against the smooth, sunlit fronts of the homes. The low light reaches across everything. It’s soft but sure, catching the texture of tile and stone. High above, the sky holds a wash of coral fading to violet. Evening rests on the rooftops, and time slows at the threshold.
