Red House with Parnitha Background, Patissia
MK2237
About This Work
A crimson house anchors the foreground in Patissia, its red walls sharp against the pale, receding blue of Parnitha.
A deep stillness settles between the clean lines of the house and the soft shoulder of the mountain. The red is so definite, while the buildings next to it are quieter in muted earth tones. Your eye just travels back, past the rooftops, into that distance where the mountain seems to dissolve into cool blues and a dusty haze. The paint feels different, too. It's so crisp on the architecture, but breathes a little more freely on the slopes of Parnitha. And the light… it’s so gentle. It just catches the edge of the roof. There’s no one here. The quiet feels so patient, as if the whole street is holding its breath.
