Leros
MK2243
About This Work
Leros opens across cobalt water, a limestone ridge drawing the far shore into hard, pale relief.
Everything feels held in this high, clean light. You can start down here with the low scrub and pale rock, following the shoreline as it curves toward those whitewashed walls. The deep blues of the water and sky are broken by warm ochre earth and chalky stucco. Just those small touches of terracotta on the roofs. The brushwork is so specific on the buildings, but then it breathes out into the sky and water. That light sharpens every shadow under an eave, pulling cool blues into the hollows. The air feels still, holding the hour in that quiet pause between midday and afternoon.
