Segovia Cathedral at Sunset
MK843
About This Work
Segovia Cathedral holds the last western light, its stone warming to amber as the sky grades from peach to lavender above the spires.
Everything feels held in this last light. The cathedral rises on the right, its height anchored by the low stonework in front. The other rooftops recede, pulling you deeper into the quiet scene. The stone glows with warm golds and oranges while the shadows deepen into slate blue and mauve. And the sky just melts from peach near the rooftops into that soft lavender overhead. The light itself comes from somewhere off to the left, catching the details on the building's face and laying those long, gentle shadows across the street. The architectural lines feel so firm, yet the sky just breathes. A held quiet settles over the streets, the city paused at the hinge between day and night.
