Zagora, Night View
M1656
About This Work
Amber windows mark the hillside at Zagora, scattered and lit against a sky deepened to indigo.
There's such a deep quiet here, a stillness that settles over the stone and rooftops. Look how the houses climb the hill, their paths pulling us up toward that dark ridge. Against all that indigo, the windows just glow—little touches of amber and warm white. It’s just enough light to hold the darkness back. The paint in the sky feels so smooth, but on the rooftops and branches it’s thicker, as if to catch what little light there is. All the warmth comes from inside the houses, carving small pools out of the shadow. Night settles over the village slowly, and time seems to rest at the edge of every lit window.
