Zagora, the Oldest House, Smoke
M2032
About This Work
A pale plume of smoke lifts from an old stone house, thinning as it rises. Heat sits over everything, slow and dry.
There’s a deep quiet to this place, a stillness baked right into the stone. Look how the sun catches the low walls—weathered ochre and chalky whites. The light is so strong. It cuts sharp shadows that feel carved into the ground. Everything else here is built with such firm, measured lines, but the smoke is just a soft breath, feathered into the air against the muted grey hills. The quiet holds, settled into the stones. The air carries that long hush of an afternoon that refuses to move.
