Rhodes, Arid Landscape, Minarets, Palm Trees

About This Work
Two slim minarets rise above the Rhodes plain, their pale stone held in even light, while dusty palm fronds lean at the edge of the frame.
A deep quiet rests over this land. Palm trees stand at one side, their fronds a dusty green. From there, the ground just opens up—bands of sienna and tan stretching toward those slim towers, with distant hills dissolving into a soft lavender haze. Light falls evenly, softening shadows into quiet pools rather than hard edges, so the contrast between the buildings and the earth stays gentle. And the paint itself seems to breathe with the place. It's rough where it catches the crust of the earth, then smooths out for the sky and the cool stone. The whole scene holds a long midday quiet, settled into the land like something that has always been there.
