About This Work
Terracotta rooftops descend toward the plain, a wrought-iron balcony cutting dark across sun-scorched plaster.
There’s a deep quiet here, a stillness that seems to hold the afternoon. Your eye travels so naturally from the sunlit ground, across the tiled roofs and balconies, and out toward those soft hills. The light feels direct, almost hard, carving every surface. That deep blue against the sun-bleached white sets the tone, with warm earth tones and olive green answering from the shadows. The paint itself breathes—smoother on the plaster walls, then thicker and more alive in the leaves and roof tiles. It’s a place without people, but it feels full. A long quiet settles over everything, the kind that can hold a whole afternoon in place.
