View of Zagora, Sunset

About This Work
Zagora keeps its color at the edge of dusk — amber settled into the ochre walls, lavender rising through the upper sky.
A deep quiet settles over the village as the sky opens up. The horizon is high, letting the color breathe. The lines of the rooftops and pathways carry you toward the warmth of the sinking sun. The last light catches on those ochre walls and terracotta forms. It’s a soft glow, not a sharp glare. The paint itself seems to hold two different textures—fluid strokes for the air and drier, firmer touches that shape the sun-baked earth. Long shadows stretch out, anchoring the buildings, leaving just a few highlights along their crowns. A held stillness rests over Zagora. Time slows, held in that quiet pause between day and night.
