Zagora, From the Road Upward, House, Tree
M1999
About This Work
A stone house in Zagora, one tree clearing its roofline, the road continuing past both.
There's a deep quiet to this hillside, the kind that belongs only to late afternoon. The path just climbs, lifting past the house at the center. The warm earth tones of the walls meet the soft green of the tree and that pale wash of sky. The light gives the building its simple, solid shape, casting long shadows that stretch along the ground. Even the paint feels different—smooth on the sunlit stone, but almost breathing in the leaves. A held quiet settles over everything, the kind of hour when the world seems to listen.
